Job Title: Division Controller

Reports To: VP Corporate Controller

Position Summary:
The Division controller is responsible for the overall accounting function for Miramar.  Responsibilities include oversight of all division financial activities including the preparation of timely and accurate financial results.  Position supports various activities such as audits, SOX, and support of parent company reporting and projects. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage month-end close process
  • Manages Miramar accounting staff and processes, including  processing financial transactions, cost accounting, preparation of accurate and timely division financial statements
  • Manages areas involving technical accounting and management judgement and estimation (revenue recognition, cost accounting, inventory reserves, warranty reserves, etc.)
  • Implements and maintains internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Supports annual audit process and quarterly reviews, including oversight of annual inventory count procedures and coordinated efforts with external audit team
  • Supports parent company projects as needed
  • Support Business and Operational initiatives and provide accounting perspective and underlying data
  • Reviews existing processes and systems to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Supports Sunshine Act reporting, including management of expense reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA in Accounting, or related field preferred;  CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including cost accounting
  • 7+ years experience in accounting management in a similar environment
  • Ability to motivate team to work accurately and efficiently
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and other financial systems (QAD a plus);  Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Team player, flexible, able to work cross functionally and with parent company
  • Ability to design and implement internal controls;  SOX background highly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management capabilities,  Able to work independently, Flexible
  • Able to get into the details, but also rise up to see the big picture
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
