Quality Control Technician

Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Reports To: Senior Director, Quality Assurance

Position Summary:
Perform quality inspections of incoming materials to defined inspection procedures and requirements. Conduct quality control review of completed lot history records. Support basic in-house calibration and preventive maintenance to defined procedures. Document results and communicate status as appropriate.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspect incoming materials, subassemblies, and finished devices to defined inspection procedures and requirements
  • Perform first article inspections
  • Document inspection results and notify engineer/manager when nonconformances are identified
  • Practice proper material handling, identification, segregation, and storage methods
  • Conduct quality control review of completed lot history records to verify operator training compliance, material revision and status (no outstanding non-conforming material reports or deviations), and ensure compliance with good documentation practices.
  • Perform basic in-house calibration and PM activities
  • Perform routine department administrative support and documentation functions
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, and other Quality personnel to ensure good communication and coordination of activities
  • Report problems or concerns to supervisor or responsible engineering staff
  • Identify and communicate ideas for process improvement
  • Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and applicable regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • AS degree or equivalent education and experience required
  • Minimum 8 years related experience in the medical device industry
  • Experience with basic electrical and mechanical inspection/measurement equipment and tools, statistical sampling plans, basic electronic databases, and lot history record review
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings, test methods, work instructions, and operating procedures
  • Proficiency with inspection/measurement equipment, statistical sampling plans, and basic electronic databases
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented
